George V. Blaha is the President and CEO of The BOLI Group, and a nationally recognized expert in the single premium bank and corporate owned life-insurance (BOLI and COLI) fields. Founded in 2007, The BOLI Group is a market leader in the design, implementation, and management of BOLI/COLI programs for banks and insurance companies.
George brings a wealth of knowledge to the financial institutions he consults with, in tandem with his time-tested methods and many insurance carrier placements. His regulatory knowledge in guiding clients through the OCC pre-purchase and post purchase process has proven helpful to hundreds of large and small banks in analyzing the BOLI asset class and documenting the process. George’s conservative approach has proven successful over his 30 years of market experience.
Prior to forming The BOLI Group, George was the Managing Director of Clark Consulting's insurance practice and was one of their top BOLI consultants after joining the firm in the early 1990s. Mr. Blaha is a respected voice in the BOLI and COLI fields and is frequently invited to speak to other financial professionals nationally, present at market specific carrier gatherings and on behalf of banking association and accounting firms on a variety of BOLI topics. George has also written articles on BOLI that have been published in various trade publications.
Mr. Blaha has earned the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation and is a former board member of the Advance Association of Life Underwriters (AALU). He remains active with AALU and their Washington efforts to protect the life insurance industry and their products. He holds the series 6 and 63 qualifications with NASD and is a licensed insurance representative. A graduate of John Carroll University with a bachelor’s degree in finance, George is married with three adult children. In his personal time, he enjoys traveling, fishing, and playing tennis.
