George V. Blaha formed The BOLI Group in 2007 after accumulating over 20 years experience in executive and director benefit planning, as well as bank-owned life insurance (BOLI). The BOLI Group specializes in benefits expense management and single premium life insurance (BOLI and COLI) for financial institutions.

Mr. Blaha began his career with Connecticut Mutual in 1986 and joined Clark Consulting's Banking Practice in 1994. As a consultant with the Banking Practice, Mr. Blaha assisted a wide range of financial institutions in the analysis and successful implementation of BOLI programs. He guided his clients through a comprehensive pre-purchase assessment that tests the eligibility and risks for every plan implemented, including calculating liabilities, OCC testing, preparing financial models, assisting in board review, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and reporting requirements. Utilizing the most competitive products available, he successfully customized BOLI programs that best suited a bank's overall objectives. In 2004, Mr. Blaha became the National Managing Director of Clark’s Insurance Company Practice where he coordinated Clark’s services into a platform to deliver to the insurance community using compensation and benefit practices together with his expertise in the single premium employee benefit financing area similar to what he had done in the BOLI arena.

Mr. Blaha has spoken at various events on behalf of both banking associations and accounting firms on a variety of executive and director benefit topics, as well as BOLI issues. He has also written articles on banking subjects that have been published in a number of industry trade publications. Mr. Blaha graduated from John Carroll University in Ohio with a bachelor's degree in finance. He is a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and a board member of the American Association of Life Underwriters (AALU). He currently serves on its Finance and Strategic Planning Committees. He has passed his Series 6 and 63 qualifying exams with the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) and is an insurance licensed representative.
